As a volunteer for the Alleghany Arts Council, I agree to the following:

• The service provided by the Volunteer is freely and voluntarily rendered, without expectation or receipt of compensation, salary, or any benefits normally associated with employment.
• The Volunteer is not an employee of the Council for any purpose. This Agreement does not create a contract of employment, and the Volunteer is not entitled to workers’ compensation, unemployment benefits, or other employee benefits.
• The Volunteer agrees that they will not receive or seek payment for their volunteer services.
• The Volunteer will maintain a professional, courteous, and respectful manner when representing or interacting with the Council, its constituents, artists, patrons, and the public.
• The Volunteer will perform duties to the best of their ability as assigned by the designated Council member or supervisor.
• The Volunteer agrees to hold all non-public information concerning the Council, its donors, patrons, and financial records in strict confidence.
• The Volunteer grants permission to use individual and group volunteer photographs, films and videos of me for promotional or other uses furthering the mission of the Council, including use on their website and social media.
• The Volunteer recognizes that the opportunity to participate in the Council volunteer program may involve physical labor and may carry a risk of personal injury. The Volunteer hereby agrees to assume all risks which may be associated with their participation.
• The Volunteer hereby releases, discharges, waives and relinquishes all claims, liabilities and damages they may sustain from bodily injury, personal injury or property damage and hold harmless the Council, its officers, directors, employees and agents.
• The Volunteer acknowledges that they have read this information and fully understand that by agreeing to these they are giving up legal rights and/or remedies which may otherwise be available regarding any losses they sustain as a result of their participation.
