Backwoods Beat Music & Art Festival

Backwoods Beat Festival is a weekend of music and arts in beautiful Sparta, North Carolina honoring and memorializing the late T.J. Worthington, a local artist, writer, and music supporter.  


Show Overview: 

  • Centrally located in the heart of Sparta, NC, not far from the Blue Ridge Parkway. 
  • Close proximity to downtown restaurants, a brewery, coffee shops and music venues. 
  • Vigorous marketing regional campaign for BBF 
  • Children’s activities/art area adjacent to the show 
  • Demonstration area – all artists are encouraged to participate.

The jury will be comprised of artists, gallery owners, and Arts Council board members. All applicants will be juried to assure the highest quality of work and presentation. There will also be a limited number of invited artists to help ensure a cohesive event. 


Setup and check-in will begin at 6:00am. Set up and break down instructions will be included with acceptance information. 

Application and Booth fees:

  • Early-bird application Fee (must be postmarked by 4/31): $20
  • Late Application fee after 4/31: $30
  • Early Jury: 5/4
  • Late Jury: 5/31
  • Booth Fee: $80 due after acceptance
  • Booth Fee Payment Deadline: Monday, June 1, 2020
